Drawing I: Weekly Journal So Far...

In my drawing class I have a weekly journal that I have to keep my sketches in.  Each week we have three assignments: one found object, one independent study, and one assignment that the instructor gives us.  I'm not going to lie, I usually wait until the day the assignments are due and then try to finish them quickly.  I know I'm only cheating myself out of a better finished product but with so many big projects and due dates it's hard to stay on top of my journal drawings.  Here's some of the highlights from what I've done so far:

Week 1:
Self Portrait - I think this turned out pretty well except the nose and teeth.  I used a harder pencil than normal so the blending became an issue and i didn't get enough darkness in the shadows.

Found Object - A box of Chalk.  Not much to say.

Independent Study - HOMER!!! I ran out of time and had to do something quick.

Week 2:
Everything I drew for week 2 was crap so I won't waste your time.

Week 3:
Contour, Detailed Contour, Grid, and Shading - We had to do this assignment twice because apparently everyone else in the class fell short on week 2 as well.  I think I did pretty well this time around, though.

Perspective - Instead of a found object we had to draw a room in our house using perspective.
I chose the one I could do while watching Face Off.

Independent Study - I meant to finish this drawing with detailed shading but once again I ran out of time.

Week 4:
Grid - We had to make a grid on an image and then duplicate it.  I think it's supposed to make it easier and help you get proportions right but to me it made me so focused on the grid that I forgot I was drawing a person.  I think it messed me up.
Original - found on web, address unknown

Independent Study - Last is a lady I made up using Britney Spears' face as a guide and some other images I found on the web.  Her name is Madam Durand and she's an adventurer!
